BOOKWROM: RAGDOLL

Rating: ✭✭✭✭✭

Saturday night I finally finished up Ragdoll by Daniel Cole and this thriller has officially been added to my favorites list.  I mean come on, with a summary that starts with "A body is discovered with the dismembered parts of six victims stitched together like a puppet, nicknamed by the press as the 'ragdoll'" - how could you not want to pick it up?!

As the summary states, Ragdoll starts with the police finding a dead body, which turns out to be the compilation of six different people.  The head, torso, right arm, left arm, right leg, and left leg all belonged to someone different.  Detective Wolf and his team have to figure out who each part belonged to and why the killer did this.  Did these six individuals have something on common? Why were they chosen and why were they sewn together?  The plot gets even more twisted when the killer makes public a list of his/her next victims.  You HAVE to read to see who is on the list because I really want to say, but I can't!

Daniel Cole kept the pace going throughout the whole story.  The only thing that caused me to read this book slightly slower than normal was work.

If you're questioning how gruesome this story is, I would say maybe 4/10 - just enough! The various murders that occur are rather disturbing, but it never got to the point where I had to set the book down for a second.

Enjoy!

SUNDAY SNIPPETS

Happy Mother's Day!

Another great weekend in the books.  My sister Christie came up from Brooklyn to visit for the weekend! It's always a quick trip, but I'll take anytime with her I can get!

One of the highlights (other than seeing her of course!) was our lunch yesterday at Boca Bistro in Saratoga.  Brennan and I both ordered the Boca Burger and woah am I glad I did.  Not only did it have a friend egg, but the put pimento cheese on there! Yuuuuuum.

✯✯✯

On a side note, I updated the blog categories up top! I'm slightly obsessed with the drop down capabilities and am trying to use them as much as possible.

Currently Reading: Ragdoll by Daniel Cole

Enjoy your Sunday night! I have a little laundry to finish up, then plan to snuggle on the couch with the boys & read my book! xx

PROJECT STAIRWAY

Our current inside project is giving this stairway an update.  We will update the flooring & the red "shelf" when we redo the kitchen, so for now we focused on our favorite easy update: PAINT!  Over the weekend B took out the what felt like 100 nails and hooks, filled them in, and sanded.

Last night he started the painting with a layer of white over the walls.  Tonight we will finish the walls, doors, and molding.  With half of the walls painted, there is already such a huge difference!! It's crazy how you don't even realize how dirty walls are (and how the darker colors underneath are showing through) until you re-paint fresh!

Now, if you've followed the previous posts on painting the rest of our house (here and here), you know we are all about COLOR and this stairway will be no different!  We are going to use the bedroom blue and do STRIPES!! Yes, you read correctly - stripes.  I got this amazingly awesome idea from Meredith Miller (see her instagram post here).  You do follow her, right? If not and you're into interior design, you are missing out!!

Can't wait to see how it all turns out - fingers crossed!
