Sunday Snippets

Another weekend come and gone.  It's Sunday night and Brennan, Chip and I are finally sitting down after a very productive weekend.  Brennan's parents came to visit and helped us get a lot of work done outside.  We pulled out bushes, cut down trees, planted some flowers, and ended with a little birthday cake for Bob.

With all the work we have done outside, I am getting so excited to be able to reveal all our hard work! I'm still very mad at myself for not taking pictures of the house and yard when we first moved in. I'm going to have to google and see what photos I can find so that I can do a sufficient "reveal" post.

For now, how beautiful are these daffodils?! We were super excited when we found these beauties growing in one of the backyard gardens.  They were in the garden we are turning into vegetables, so I had my first practice of transplanting bulbs.  Proud that I can say it was a pretty successful transplant, minus some of the stalks that got a little bent.

There are some other plants that are starting to come up and getting ready to bloom, so I'm waiting impatiently to see what they are! Brennan's mom believes we have a whole garden of hostas and potentially a whole side of our house is lined with lilies.  Lilies! Pretty much going to stalk those little plants daily to see if we are that lucky.

Good Morning, Sunday - You're looking beautiful today!

I wanted to post & link the items from my recent Instagram post as I'm slightly obsessed with all of these items.  Thought you might be interested in seeing where I got each.
Oh, &  my rain boots?! They're on major sale right now!!

What are you up to on this gorgeous Sunday? B & I are about to head outside for some more yard work.  Today we are going to finish digging up old plants to get ready for our vegetable garden!

This post is dedicated to my girl Smlaur ☺.

My friend Lauren is one of my role models when it comes to healthy living.  Whether it's a new healthy food option or exercise she has tried, Lauren is constantly introducing me to new things.  I finally tried her recent breakfast of choice & I couldn't wait to share it with all of you!

Lauren recommended I use a Talenti container & it really is perfect! Of course a little mason jar would be cuter....#homegoodshereicome

The best part? You can really make it your own.

Add fruit - I have done pineapple, but want to try blueberries and strawberries.
Going to pick up some almond milk, been using regular 2% milk.
Scoop of peanut butter? Why not!

Snippets - a little look into what I've been up to...

It's April 18! We made it! Work (& life) has been super crazy the past couple of months as it has been #taxseason at the office, but I'm happy to say it is over...for now.  Anyone in the tax field can agree that February until April is just a blur.  I'm looking forward to a couple of quiet weeks...here's to hoping!

I am ashamed to say that I have not picked up a book since I finished Burned in February.  Last week I did pick up Ragdoll up at the library, but I haven't done much other than put my bookmark in it.  I'm determined to get myself out of this reading slump by the end of this week.  Hold me to it!

When I haven't been at the office or computer prepping tax returns, I have been out in the yard with B. Upstate New York has been blessed with some amazing spring weather recently and we have taken full advantage. With the upcoming backyard bash this summer, we have some SERIOUS work to do in the yard. The previous owner had multiple gardens and so many plants! I've been told by neighbors that the flowers were absolutely gorgeous, but I'm having a hard time keeping a lot of them.  The gardens are so overgrown and there are roots e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e.  Bushes have grown taller than B and caused moss to grow on the house and on the cement walkways.  I find myself constantly worrying over pulling out a plant and "wasting money" having to buy something new when we have plenty currently.  However, I have come to the conclusion that this is OUR house and we have to make it our OWN.  Even if that means chopping up pretty plants.

Quick check-in on this GORGEOUS SUNDAY in Loudonville! The weather reached the high 60s and was pure sun all day. We couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up the weekend (ugh, I never like thinking those words).
Brennan and I worked hard out in the yard all morning - lots to do to get this place ready for a wedding!!  Then, like every other golf fan in the world, the Hand-Braman household tuned in to the Masters for the final round.  In order to celebrate & really get into the mood, B made a nice spread of "Master-themed" eats and sips.
